On November 25, 2021, the industry-university-research exchange meeting between the Jilin Provincial Animal Husbandry Administration and the College of Food Science and Engineering of Jilin University was held in the conference room on the third floor of the Food Building. Zhang Guohua, Director of Jilin Provincial Animal Husbandry Administration Bureau, Chen Benneng, Director of Animal Product Processing Division, with a group of 6 people, Zhang Jiatong, Director of West District Office of Science and Technology of Jilin University, Professor Zhang Tiehua, Dean of College of Food Science and Engineering, Professor Zhou Yajun, Associate Dean of the college, The directors of the departments (Teaching and Research Office) attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dean Zhang Tiehua.

Director Zhang Guohua first introduced the overall situation of animal husbandry development in Jilin Province, focusing on the main achievements during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the current development environment advantages, and the development goals during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Director Zhang Guohua pointed out that in the important period of the new round of revitalization of the northeast old industrial base, the implementation of the national "One Belt One Road" strategy and the promotion of the "Chang Tu Ji" strategy, the province implements the strategy of prioritizing the development of animal husbandry, the province is actively moving towards modern animal husbandry. As the strongest support for Jilin Province's animal husbandry, Jilin University hopes to reach project cooperation to promote the healthy, coordinated and rapid development of Jilin Province's animal husbandry.

Subsequently, Dean Zhang Tiehua introduced the development of the College of Food Science and Engineering of Jilin University, focusing on the discipline direction and characteristics, specialty characteristics and advantages, teachers and talent training, and serving local economic contributions. He also gave a detailed introduction to the college's scientific research projects in the field of animal husbandry, transformation of results, and services for rural revitalization. Deputy Dean Zhou Yajun gave a brief introduction on the research and development of the college's characteristic meat products, green food industrialization processing technology, comprehensive utilization and development of by-products, and food safety testing technology. Experts at the meeting conducted discussions and communications on the transformation and upgrading of the livestock industry's industrial structure, technological research and industrial chain docking, livestock product quality and safety supervision system, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of major projects, and the construction of deep processing bases for livestock and poultry products.
